Position Summary:

Performs direct patient care through utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, physician orders, hospital policies and procedures, and established professional standards. The RN is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, competent care either through direct delivery of that care or appropriate delegation and for performance improvement and quality initiatives as appropriate.

Supervises: LVN Staff (where applicable) and Ancillary Staff (where applicable)


Position Requirements:


  • Current RN License by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of California

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS required

  • Current American Heart Association ACLS card required.

  • Current NRP card required

  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification if practicing in L&D, may be obtained within 90 days of hire


  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing


  • Minimum of one-year experience in Labor & Delivery preferred

Special Qualifications:

  • All RN's must complete general nursing orientation, department-specific nursing orientation, education, and competencies with demonstrated proficiency upon hire, when duties are modified and as applicable annually thereafter. Including a minimum passing score of 80% on the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center

  • The RN working in specialty units/departments completes additional training and education through the orientation process and competency assessment.

  • An extended orientation may be available for the RN not meeting all job experience requirements.

Location/Division Specific Information This position is focused on service delivery excellence for UnityTM Lab Services. A division of Thermo Fisher responsible for providing onsite services at customers locations. We provide services at over 400 customer sites globally. This position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA. How will you make an impact? As a Site Specialist II, you'll be a part of the important work being done in the lab by supporting and servicing our customers onsite. What will you do? * Daily pickup of utilized glassware from labs, wash, sterilize, and redistribute to satellite storage areas * Maintain good house keeping * Interact daily with scientific staff * Report production metrics to management * Provide glass washing and sterilization services maintaining a constant supply of clean and sterile lab glass * Utilize washers, ovens, autoclaves and other specialty equipment * Troubleshoot and triage equipment issues appropriately * Maintain glassware processing schedules and flexible to fast paced changing priorities * Perform inspection of glassware for cracks, breaks, and scratches contacting the Supervisor/Manager/Team Lead with all pertinent information for replacement * Maintain glass wash statistics as decided upon by Thermo Fisher Scientific and customer * Maintain inventory of glassware in locations throughout the facility * Maintain required supplies for glassware washing and sterilization operations * Support the Quality Management System by: * Development, maintenance and full adherence to departmental work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP's) in fulfillment of the requirements of our Quality Management System and the expectations of our interested parties (internal / external). * Identify and report quality or compliance concerns to management and the quality function and take immediate actions to remedy. * Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & work instructions. Take direction from Supervisor/Manager regarding daily duties. * Makes decisions and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements, independently. * Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer and Thermo Fisher reports to ensure customer and Thermo Fisher requirements are met. * Communicates with supervisor/manager any customer issues or potential problems. * Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements without the presence of site trainer and management team. * Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times. * Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team. * Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies. * Represents Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively. * Performs other duties as assigned by management. * Adhere to safety requirements.
