OverviewUnityPoint-St Luke's HospitalFull-Time DaysM-F 7am-3:30pm plus call$5,000 Sign on Bonus to Qualified Applicants!As a member of the interdisciplinary team of the Cath Lab team, contributes professional Registered Radiologic Technologists (RT) knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Individual will perform tasks of considerable difficulty involved in the technical procedures of applying prescribed ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic radiographs during special procedures and Cath lab examination.Ensure the daily organization of the department by helping to manage, coordinate, plan, and evaluate procedures and personnel in the delivery of patient care, under the direction of leadership.   • * Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance RT practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research. * Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's and their families' age specific needs, culture, gender, readiness to learn and level of comprehension. * Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education. * Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. * Develops/maintains the onboarding program for new hires/temporary team members. * Develops/maintains the ongoing competency program for current team members * Assists in the development of required competencies for new procedures and ensures current staff complete required training and competencies prior to performance.Basic UPH Performance Criteria * Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. * Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. * Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. * Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. * Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. * Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:Education:Graduate of accredited program in one of the following:Cardiovascular Technology (CVT)Radiology Technology (RT/ARRT)Paramedic Science (EMT-P)Additional training in Special Procedure Technology and or Cath LabBachelor's Degree PreferredExperience:Demonstrated clinical competence and 3-5 years' experience in an Interventional Cardiology program desired.License(s)/Certification(s):CVT: Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) in Iowa.ORRT: Must be ARRT certified and have current permit issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.ORParamedic: Licensure in good standing in the state of Iowa as a Paramedic.Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or obtain certification within 3 months from hire date.Completion of one hour of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually.Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Current registration and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Cardiac-Interventional RadiographerRegistered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.Multicultural sensitivity.Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.Customer/patient focused.Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.Other:Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.Must meet requirements for standby call which includes a 30-minute response time from primary residence to St. Luke's Hospital.Must have a working phone to receive call in messages.Shares responsibility for 24-hour call for emergencies. * Area of Interest: Patient Care;* FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.0;* Department: Cardiac Cath Lab- SLRMC;* Shift: Days- Business Hours;* Job ID: 149272;
