Lab Technician

Advantage Resourcing is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician for a reputable company based in Downey, CA. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $22.00-$24.00 per hour for the 3rd shift.

As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing various Quality Assurance tasks, including laboratory testing and plant/facility Quality monitoring. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tests such as microbiological, shelf-life, antibiotic, cryoscopy, fat, moisture, and solids testing. Additionally, you will conduct ATP swabbing, Air Quality Monitoring, Water Quality Monitoring, and Environmental Pathogen Monitoring. Ensuring all tasks are meticulously documented as per SQF system guidelines is essential. You will also manage inventory of laboratory items and supplies and assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine testing of incoming fluids using FT-120

• Ensure compliance with antibiotic testing of raw milk

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, work in process, and finished products

• Conduct sensory evaluations during product Shelf-Life

• Perform equipment pre-operational inspections and air quality monitoring

• Monitor water quality for coliform and TPC

• Swab for environmental pathogens and conduct allergen testing

• Maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory supplies

• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for necessary sampling and testing

• Assist Quality Systems Manager with additional duties as required

• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment; troubleshoot and repair as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a food laboratory environment

• Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's)

• Basic knowledge of microbiology is preferred

• Experience in sensory evaluation

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair lab equipment
