Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), located in Brooklyn Center, MN, is looking for a Technician II. The person that takes this role will be expected to perform testing and analysis of batteries built at MECC. This individual will perform assigned tasks & routine duties using standard practices and work instructions in the area under limited supervision. Technicians will mainly deconstruct and perform analysis batteries manufactured at MECC. The position needs a basic level of knowledge, and judgment, in determining work methods, performing tasks/tests and recording data. A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions.

• Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation.

• Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.

• Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.

• May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection.

• Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience

• Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Strong electrical background

• Associate of Applied Science Degree, or Associate of Science Degree in a related discipline, or 2+ years of experience in a technical position

• Experience working in a laboratory setting

• Experience using Microsoft Office products

• Experience (limited) using soldering equipment

• Experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters

• Solid technical ability, equipment set up, and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent writing and documentation skills

• Experience following procedures and work instructions

• Good organizational and verbal communication skills

• Medical manufacturing experience

People skills to understand cultural differences, adapts quickly, and collaborates effectively

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
