Lab Tech

Job Description Summary

The Laboratory Technician is primarily responsible for the testing of produced and received product, maintenance of records, calibration of laboratory instruments, certification of shipments, and performing an array of special tests required by laboratory work orders. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Basic product and component quality testing for production lines.

• Work instruction writing / review.

• Train other team members.

Job Requirements Qualifications

Requires a self-starting, creative person with good analytical, math and computer skills and a good general knowledge of our overall Lab Process. Must have the ability to work well alone and with others, the ability to follow and correctly perform laboratory test methods on his/her own, the ability to perform more than one task at a time and the ability to create an efficient work schedule. Must have a good understanding of the chemical and physical properties.

Education

High School Diploma

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent

1+ year experience

Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
