Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms.

The LST III will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST III is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies as required. The LST III will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. The LST III is responsible for limited laboratory testing and for assisting technologists in all appropriate test methods as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.

  • Licensure: Must have a valid drivers license.

  • Preferred Education: College level chemistry, Biology or other Science courses.

  • Preferred Experience: More than one year previous experience in a clinical laboratory.

This is a Part-Time opportunity for 24 hours per week (with room for more hours) with Mercy Child Development for a licensed Physical Therapist for weekdays, daytime and after school hours (3p-7p). Responsibilities and Qualifications OverviewUnder the direction of the rehabilitation specialist, provides individuals that have neuro/musculoskeletal dysfunction with appropriate physical therapy treatment in order to achieve maximum functional outcome. Promotes growth and development of Rehabilitation Therapy services by assisting in special projects and/or coordinating Rehabilitation Therapy activities in patient care programs. ResponsibilitiesSafety/Risk Management:a. Implements treatment programs in a safe manner displaying a variety of treatment skills in specific treatment modalities.b. Performs patient care to acceptable standards of professional ethics by respecting patient confidences and providing care to all persons without regard to personality or medical problems.c. Follows proper Policy & Procedure guidelines for Infection Control and completion of incident reports.d. Performs patient documentation and communicates with other areas in a manner that meets all quality improvement requirements.Coordination of Services:a. Assists with marketing and coordinating workshops.b. Participates in quality improvement/program evaluation activities.c. Assists with analyzing outcome data and providing suggestions for action.Primary Aspects:a. Accurately evaluates patients functional status and relevant medical and psychosocial factors.b.
