SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Lab Outreach Coordinator to join our Lab Administration team. This full time role will work days.

Must collaboratively work with Laboratory Administration, Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Affiliates, HCMC existing clients, and potential clients of HCMC to maximize growth through effective outreach programs. Maintains the needs of current accounts and ensures client satisfaction. Updates and implements client communications and education efforts including regulatory and billing requirements. Must support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of the organization and demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public, and co-workers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a liaison and resource for HCMC Laboratory affiliates and clients including onboarding, communication, and problem solving issues including specimen collection, test ordering, specimen processing, test reports, billing, and courier services

  • Maintain contact with HCMC Laboratory affiliates and clients and identify business development opportunities

  • Coordinates laboratory supply distribution to HCMC Laboratory affiliates and clients

  • Promote new testing changes or services using multiple communications channels and meet with current and potential clients to assist with growth of outreach laboratory services

  • Meet with current and potential clients to assist with growth of outreach laboratory services and ensure customer service expectations are being met

  • Coordinate current and new research studies utilizing HCMC Laboratory services

  • Work with key laboratory target growth areas to assure tools, programs, and processes are developed to achieve objectives

  • Update and maintain HCMC Laboratory public website and set up clients in electronic laboratory order/result software

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Laboratory Technician

  • Clinical Laboratory Technician, or related discipline

  • OR-

  • Associate's Degree in Business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Laboratory experience

  • Three years of experience in a laboratory setting

  • Knowledge of laboratory operations

  • Ability to function as a consultant in the outreach/internal arena with strong interactive and communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate judgment in planning work, assessing results, customer satisfaction, problem solving, and taking recommended actions

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong interactive and communication skills effectively in English (both written and verbal)

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Regular and reliable attendance

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently

The incumbent demonstrates ethical behavior and maintains clear and healthy boundaries with youth while performing all aspects of their designated program. This position will be working with young adults 16-24 years of age who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in the Northern Twin Cities Metro-area. A key component of this position is case managing individual youth and/or parenting youth working towards independent living. Evening and weekend availability may be required. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions: * Perform all case management functions and responsibilities in a youth focused, culturally competent manner. This includes but is not limited to needs assessment, case planning and management, documentation, etc. * Identify, make referrals to, and coordinate necessary and appropriate community resource programs. * Establish and maintain working relationships with peers, community and court appointed partners, educators, youth support systems, and resource staff to achieve established program plan goals. * Develop and maintain supportive, nurturing, and empowering relationships with youth. * May provide work direction to team members, interns and volunteers as needed. * Perform administrative duties to support the program as needed. Competencies: * Values * Inclusion * Relationships * Quality Results * Functional Requirements Qualifications: Required * Bachelor's Degree in related field (such as Human Services, Social Work, Corrections or Youth Development) or equivalent experience. * Minimum of 2 years of experience working in youth development to preferably include case management, working with diverse, low income and at risk youth or related human service experience. * Demonstrated professionalism in the areas of time management, communication * Ability to effectively problem solve utilizing all resources available. * Must be able to work in an independent and self directed manner * Experience working with diverse populations * Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite (Word and Excel) * Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certification with the first 30 days of employment * Ability to transport youth to meetings and activities, if applicable.
