The Laboratory Manager in the Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory will be responsible for managing the operational, instructional, and administrative activities in a laboratory teaching program. Report to the Director of the lab.
Work with the Director to place and receive orders for the labs, maintain and oversee repair of equipment, and ensure safety compliance of all individuals utilizing the labs. Ensure supplies are stocked and available when needed Supervise, monitor and evaluate stipended graduate assistants and part-time lecturers assigned to teach the lab sections as needed. Train incoming personnel in basic experimental techniques and on core equipment.
Communicate and enforce laboratory safety rules to internal and external researchers working in the laboratory. Maintain laboratory records and data Assist with preparation of grant proposals, publications and presentations Serve as primary point of contact for all teaching-lab-related issues, including mediation and resolution of problems as needed. Prepare and provide all materials required for successful completion of labs.
Develop, manage and provide instructional support to students in the lab. Coordinate all aspects of the daily operations including meetings with teaching assistants and part-time lecturers, scheduling undergraduate assistants, and management of the operational budget of the BATL labs including placement, receipt, and cataloging of all orders and determination of equipment purchase priorities. Maintains order and cleanliness of laboratory spaces and equipment Other tasks as directed by the Director Chemistry and Chemical Biology - 131300
