The Laboratory Manager in the Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory will be responsible for managing the operational, instructional, and administrative activities in a laboratory teaching program. Report to the Director of the lab.

Work with the Director to place and receive orders for the labs, maintain and oversee repair of equipment, and ensure safety compliance of all individuals utilizing the labs. Ensure supplies are stocked and available when needed Supervise, monitor and evaluate stipended graduate assistants and part-time lecturers assigned to teach the lab sections as needed. Train incoming personnel in basic experimental techniques and on core equipment.

Communicate and enforce laboratory safety rules to internal and external researchers working in the laboratory. Maintain laboratory records and data Assist with preparation of grant proposals, publications and presentations Serve as primary point of contact for all teaching-lab-related issues, including mediation and resolution of problems as needed. Prepare and provide all materials required for successful completion of labs.

Develop, manage and provide instructional support to students in the lab. Coordinate all aspects of the daily operations including meetings with teaching assistants and part-time lecturers, scheduling undergraduate assistants, and management of the operational budget of the BATL labs including placement, receipt, and cataloging of all orders and determination of equipment purchase priorities. This individual will have overall responsibility for project execution and client relationships within our Laboratory projects. * Managing assigned projects from concept to close out and maintaining effective integrated project execution strategies and plans * Initiating, preparing and reviewing proposals and participating in interviews in response to RFPs and RFQs * Accountable for documenting, developing, and monitoring project scope, schedule, and overall budget * Identifying, implementing, complying with and maintaining applicable Company safety, environmental and quality standards, procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements * Lead productive high performing multi-disciplinary teams which may include personnel from multiple offices, vendor and client organizations * Collaborating with other lead professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with company standards and client expectations * Implementing and maintaining effective communication to the project team and all stakeholders to ensure full understanding and commitment to the agreed to deliverables * Maintaining positive relationships with clients through superior service to ensure client satisfaction with respect to the expectations * Ensuring the obligations of the agreement between Client and the Company are fulfilled * Applying the Company's project controls standards and developing, maintaining and reporting an accurate project performance against agreed to baseline to ensure agreed to gross margin performance * Processing monthly invoicing and following up on delinquent payments * Bachelors degree in Architecture is required * Master's Degree a plus * Minimum 10 years' experience is required * Professional Registration, and LEED accreditation preferred * Must have a thorough knowledge of codes, guidelines and standards effecting interior building design and construction * Experience in the preparation of reports and information using software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required * Must have excellent communication, organizational, presentation and people skills with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focused tempered with a team-centered approach At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
