Lab Information Specialist

At Aspire - San Antonio, we are dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care to patients with infertility issues. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Information Specialist to join our team. The Lab Information Specialist is responsible for providing daily administrative support of the IVF laboratory and the Embryologists. This position takes direction from the embryologists and other staff members regarding the administration, maintenance, and daily running of the laboratory, while also working in a collaborative relationship with the IVF Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Director, and other team members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide daily support to the IVF Laboratory and the Embryologists as needed to meet time-sensitive workflow.

• Accurately maintain logs and clinical data

• Enter specific clinical data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

• Transfer out and receive sperm, eggs, and embryos according to laboratory procedures.

• Maintain Quality Control records, electronic and written QC records.

• Move and change supply tanks (compressed gas and liquid nitrogen)

• Maintain LN2 Dewar and tank levels according to laboratory policies.

• Keep the laboratory stocked and fully supplied through inventory tracking and ordering.

• Maintain the supply of all lab paperwork and cycle documents.

• Receive visitors, answer phone calls, and triage appropriately

Education/Experience/ Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred

• Two years of related clerical/administrative job experience strongly preferred

• Experience working in a laboratory setting preferred
