Lab Director

Piper Companies is currently seeking a Lab Director to support a reputable global food safety, and quality company in Crete, Illinois.

Responsibilities of the Lab Director

• Take ownership and develop a strategic plan aligned with business goals.

• Manage finances, set goals, and execute strategies effectively.

• Utilize resources efficiently and ethically to achieve results.

• Maintain expertise in food science, demonstrate leadership, and set high standards of behavior.

• Foster an environment of coaching, development, and alignment with corporate objectives.

• Ensure compliance, exceptional customer experiences, industry involvement, and quality management.

Qualifications of the Lab Director

• Expertise in microbiology, chemistry, and food science

• Bachelor's, Master's degree, or equivalent experience.

• Understanding of finance, budgeting, sales, and marketing for customer acquisition and retention.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including LIMS, for data management and document production.

• Analytical problem-solving skills to meet customer analysis needs.

• Strong oral and written communication, customer relations, and management abilities.

• Manages multiple lab managers overseeing supervisors supporting technicians and staff.

Compensation for the Lab Director

• Pay Rate: $150,000 - 160,000 Annually
