Summary

The coordinator position is responsible for regional oversight of laboratory safety and quality programs. Primary responsibility is ensuring laboratory and laboratory staff compliance with all safety regulations.

Plans, develops and coordinates activities and flow of work for safety and quality in the laboratory. This position will be involved in collaborative development of new programs related to organization growth and standardization. Knowledge of OSHA and laboratory regulatory standards and best practices is preferred

Plans, develops, and coordinates activities and flow of work for an assigned function or area in the Laboratory. Ensures laboratory operations and staff compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Duties

  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely completion.

  • Delegates and assigns work commensurate with knowledge, skill and experience, and ensures the work is performed appropriately.

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services, and systems/performance measures.

  • Facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of program or area services and initiatives.

  • Facilitates the development of practice standards and measurable outcomes based on performance evaluation and research.

  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding departmental/area policies, procedures and services.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
2 years related experience

Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/subspecialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent computer skills as we are an electronic medical records based practice. Qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar medical office setting. This position will work at our Office in the Aurora Medical Center, and must be willing to travel to other locations within the practice as needed. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Employment at Colorado Kidney Care is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment screening and background check which includes motor vehicle record. This position entails heavy computer and administrative duties for the front office paired with some hands-on MA duties; qualified candidate must be competent and enjoy administrative duties as well as customer service, including but not limited to the following: Responsibilities and Duties: * Greet patients and perform Check-in and Check-out procedures in an accurate and timely manner * Process patient payments and perform billing payment entry * Prepare payment batches and maintain accurate office money and cash transactions * Schedule patient appointments * Perform medication, test and procedure authorizations * Distribute notes and information to outside providers/entities when needed * Prepare for patient office visits and prepare lab work in patient charts * Maintain appointment waitlist and schedule waitlist appointments whenever possible * Scan and attach patient medical records and administrative documents in EMR * Utilize and maintain office communication through Outlook, calendars and task reminder * Review and process incoming faxes, and flow labs that are not electronically sent * Make patient reminder calls for lab work two weeks prior to patient appointments * Cross coverage of other duties as needed & other duties as assigned Experience and Skills: * High school diploma or GED * Professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication * Expected to communicate in a precise and clear manner, verbally and in writing * Works with others in a cooperative and supportive manner * Displays patience and compassion in all patient interactions * Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment * Possess an intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook * Ability to navigate the internet proficiently * Proficient with general math skills * Expected to function at a high level of efficiency without constant supervision and also work as part of a team * Possess a valid driver's license with a good MVR Valued but not required skills and experience (optional): * Experience with EMR is preferred but not required, if computer skills are strong * Certificate in Medical Assistant and /or knowledge and skills for Medical Assistant role is plus We offer competitive pay commensurate with experience and excellent benefits including: * Medical, dental, vision and life insurance * 401K Plan * Holiday pay and generous paid time-off plan * Education reimbursement program Denver Nephrology Aurora CO
