What You Will Do as the Laboratory Coordinator Agriculture Embryo Rescue
Coordinate the Corn Trait Introgression (TI) Embryo Rescue (ER) team operations with a focus on delivery of high quality plantlets ready for transplanting. You will lead a team of lab technicians in all aspects of laboratory operations.
Your goal is the timely completion of the ER processes including data entry. You will coordinate activities to optimize use of lab resources and to drive continuous operational improvement. Your team will be responsible for collecting, entering and tracking key data. You will coordinate activities with the greenhouse conversion teams to ensure smooth harvest and transplanting logistics.
Geography: the position is located in Nampa, Idaho
Basic knowledge of genetics, plant biology, and lab practices. Experience in an ER Lab and Greenhouse operations a plus.
You will need strong skills in MS Office and Excel, MINT experience a plus.
You are results oriented and have the drive to deliver high quality trait conversions to the business. Strong communication skills, the ability to guide and motivate a team, and excellent attention to detail will be key to succeeding in this job.
You will have the opportunity to learn and experiment, while deploying new technologies. An AAS or BS in Plant Sciences or Biology is preferred with at least one year experience in a lab or greenhouse operations. Basic Spanish language competency preferred.
This position is an hourly, non-exempt position, overtime eligible. All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
