Job Description

Do you want to be a valued member of a team who plays a critical role in providing excellent care to patients in a lab setting? Do you possess excellent patient-relations skills? If so, consider joining our team as a Lab Assistant PRN in our laboratory at Northwest Medical Center Bentonville.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tools

• Disposing of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies

• Drawing blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods

• Disposing of blood and other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies

• Drawing blood from capillaries by dermal puncture, such as heel or finger stick methods

• Performs activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.

• Records observations and measurements and reports results.

• Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment.

• Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.

Key qualifications to be considered for this include:

• High school diploma and/or certification by a nationally recognized body

• Electronic mail software and medical software experience preferred

• Superior service orientation mentality

• Active listening skills

• Social perceptiveness

• Problem sensitivity
