ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant to produce an adequate amount of high quality water to sufficiently meet daily demands. Production facilities include the O.N. Stevens plant facility, pump stations and elevated storage structures.

  • Prioritize and assign work orders to staff and update work progress in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Assist in the development of operating budgets.

  • Review work records and on the job training documentation.

  • Participate in regular strategic planning, multi-skilled worker training and planning and root cause analysis sessions with staff.

  • Work with project managers, contractors, representatives and engineers to ensure effective execution of projects and work assignments.

  • Monitor purchases of materials and equipment to maintain quality control and compliance with City financial policies.

  • Screen and approve work requests, establish work priorities, assign work and review work records and on the job training documentation.

  • Develop job analysis questionnaires and assist in the hiring process.

  • Provide technical leadership and training for the multi-skilled work force and assist with policy development.

  • Supervise and monitor the performance of workers at various levels.

  • Assist in personnel issues (employee discipline, payroll, etc.).

  • May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Position requires Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience

  • A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered

  • A TCEQ Surface Water Operator license is preferred

  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
