Lab Assistant
0.8-0.9 FTE, 64-72 Hours per Pay Period
Shifts: Between the hours of 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM
Weekends/Holidays: Every Third weekend with Holiday rotation
The Lab Assistant (LA) provides receptionist, registration, secretarial and specimen collection duties to support laboratory services. The LA must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented and able to multi-task well. Requires previous phlebotomy training and/or experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
compliance with Winona Health policies and regulatory requirements.
patients of all ages in compliance with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical
Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) standards and established laboratory policies and
procedures.
specimens received into the lab
policies and procedures. Assists with processing specimens for referral lab testing.
entry, result entry, database entry for send out tests, and multiple other clerical tasks as
needed.
community health screening clinics and other Winona Health approved services.
Essential Skills and Experience:
High school/GED/equivalent.
Requires phlebotomy training and/or experience. Phlebotomy
course completion required.
