Our clinics are located throughout San Diego to offer a variety of services, such as blood tests and sample collection. Our Lab Assistants are key in providing an excellent experience to our patients. This Lab Assistant will be joining the team floating between our Santee, Carmel Valley and Hillcrest clinic locations.
To be successful, the Lab Assistant will be reliable, motivated and resourceful, as well as have experiene in drawing patients of all ages. The Lab Assistant performs age specific venipuncture and capillary puncture, and processes specimens for transport. The Lab Assistant answers phones, provides clerical support for the laboratory, ensures performance and safety standards are met and inventory and supplies are stocked appropriately. The Lab Assistant serves as a liaison for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, nurses and customers to provide a positive outcome.
This is a part time position (48 hours per two-week pay period) with varied shifts, including rotating weekends. Flexibility to work extended hours and ability to float to other sites is required.
Good critical thinking and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with medical terminology, with an understanding of computer systems
