Description

The Production Lab Assistant assists production scientists with the less technical aspects of product manufacturing. Good work habits and keen attention to detail are essential for success in this position. As an entry-level position in the production department, it presents an excellent opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed for more advanced production roles.

Responsibilities

  • Product packaging

  • Product labeling

  • Preparing lab reagents

  • Cleaning and stocking laboratory

  • Compounding'making buffers, mixing chemicals, using pH meter, making dilutions, adjusting dilutions, doing titrations, making pools, making aliquots, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Respectful of coworkers, superiors, customers and vendors

Required Skills

  • Excellent observation skills and keen attention to details

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Good Info Tech skills (MS Office and laboratory software)

  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills

Education - Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • BS candidate in microbiology, biology or related field preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs

You will work with automated CNC machines as well as manual tools to produce, measure, examine, and deliver quality parts to our production teams. Working under the direction of the shop manager this position helps to ensure a clean and safe work environment. The right person will also have a keen eye towards detecting defect and out-of-tolerance parts and be able to adjust machine controls on the fly. Responsibilities: * Performs typical machine shop operations to supply inventory needs and to support assembly floor production needs. * Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Shop Manager. * Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. * Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the manufacturer. * Must be able to perform the following tasks: CNC and manual milling, CNC and manual turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, part inspection, and general fabrication. * Must be familiar with the basic, varied machine functions in order to perform the tasks above. * Must be able to read/interpret mechanical drawings to produce quality parts. * Write and maintain work and process instructions. Minimum Qualifications: * 5+ years of CNC/Manual machining and fabrication experience * Working knowledge of standard Windows OS, Excel & Word Preferred Qualifications: * AA degree in CNC and manual machining or machine tool technology * Proficiency reading, writing and editing G-code * HAAS CNC controller knowledge * CAD/CAM programming experience Vision: * Work closely with the Shop Manager and allow him to focus on more specialized tasks by maintaining a high degree of productivity. * Must be able to produce continuous small batch quantities while maintaining a high level of surface quality, dimensionally tolerant parts in a timely manner with less than 0.05% scrap rate To Apply for This Position: We ask all applicants to apply through our website at https://metergroup.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
