Provide assistance to assigned professor in preparation, execution and clean-up of laboratory space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for storing and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Collecting samples and performing scientific tests as required by the head professor.
Assistants work under the guidance of more experienced laboratory professionals.
Prepares slides and makes microscopic observations.
Keeps informed of new laboratory techniques.
Keeps inventories of supplies and stocks on hand for laboratory use.
Maintains technical records and prepares reports.
Performs related work as assigned.
Schedules and oversees the maintenance, adjustment, or calibration of laboratory instruments, apparatus, or testing devices.
Serves as the recognized expert within a program area, and provides technical assistance to other departmental staff.
Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and requests new supplies as needed.
Assisting the professor in preparing and developing the curriculum, pertaining to his subject.
Maintaining lab equipment, making lab arrangements for the practical session and providing materials for practicals to the students (if practicals are a part of the curriculum).
Working as an onsite technician clearing students queries and doubts.
Performing administrative and supervisory work associated to the department and reporting the same to the head professor.
Maintain equipment in the laboratory, making of laboratory arrangements for practical sessions, and giving materials to students for practical purposes.
Assisting students in the performance of their experiments.
Promote safety in the laboratory
Bachelors Degree in Biology or equivalent military training/experience required.
Teaching experience preferred.
This position requires special access to the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center. Only candidates with Secret Security clearance, active military identification card and access to get on base will be authorized.
