The Occupational Testing Services division is seeking a Lab Assistant for its RTP, NC location. This position will work with our Confirmations Aliquotting team.

Responsibilities include: quantitative aliquot preparation of presumptive positive urine specimens for forensic urine drug testing; retrieving batches from cold storage or alternate departments; high volume pipetting; additional duties as required by management.


License/Certification/Education: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent w/6 months - 1 year of clinical laboratory or production experience strongly preferred.

The role reports to the Sr. Director of BPAM. Day-to-day activities will include: * Maintaining accurate daily and long-term scheduling and travel. * File expense reports in a timely manner for Sr. Directors supported. * Manage day-to-day functions of the respective teams such as handling routine deliveries to the office suite, meeting guests, scheduling use of conference rooms, arranging meetings that may require delivery of catering, ordering needed office supplies and maintaining proper storage of them. * Manage Territory Operations system transactions supporting the Field Reimbursement Manager team. * Demonstrate understanding of company/department objectives and procedures, including those relating to compliance, expenses and recordkeeping. * Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload in a matrixed environment while operating within tight deadlines in a dynamic environment that often requires re-prioritization * Attend respective Lead Team meetings as needed. * Support procurement related activities and SAP transactions as needed. * Support budget management related activities as directed. * Compliance training is required in this position and will be provided. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: * High School diploma and five years relevant administrative assistant experience * Demonstrated skill in various software programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Outlook. * Demonstrated skill in managing confidential material, attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated judgment and decision-making capabilities, self-motivation, solid planning and organizing skills with a record of successful task completion Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: * Associate degree or higher * Needs to work independently as well as be a team player. It will also be critical to be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. * Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail, including ability to handle complex travel arrangements and organize cross-site events * Other skills will include: budget management, office management, familiarity in working with senior internal and external corporate executives * Experience with Workday * Experience with SAP and GSK Territory Operations systems Why GSK?
