As part of the pharmacology team, the lab animal technician will assist scientists in running
preclinical in vivo studies in mice. Under general direction, the lab animal technician will assist in
a variety of tasks following established techniques and procedures. Assist in study execution;
collects samples from and administers agents to research animals as IACUC approved studies
require. We are seeking someone that is hardworking, shows attention to detail with a positive
attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare animals for study initiation.
Ability to draw blood, injection of compounds and drugs via various routes (IV, IP, IM, ID, SC)
Tumor measurements, data collection, anesthesia, post-op care, euthanasia, and tissue collection
Documents laboratory work to acceptable standards
May require work on the weekends (infrequent)
Qualifications
B.S. in either animal science or similar discipline
1-3 years related work experience required in a laboratory animal facility
Familiarity with animal protocols, regulations, and ability to comply with IACUC requirements
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage details accurately
Successful proven record of written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear and effective exchange of information
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, web browser, and database software to record and report activities
Demonstrated team player with professional, positive attitude and willingness to be flexible

This posting represents various levels - Research Associate to Senior Research Associate. As such the starting range of $82,000 - $100,000 encompasses all roles. Level and commensurate salary will be based on the candidate's unique skill set, education, and experience, while taking into consideration internal equity.
