Lab Analyst I (Svoa GC)

Overview: Pace Analytical Services, LLC, a leading environmental laboratory, is seeking an experienced GC or GC/MS Analyst in our SVOA department at our Indianapolis, IN location.

Responsibilities:

Ability to work a weekly shift that includes a weekend day required.

• Performs sample preparation and analysis per published methods and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Setup and operate Gas Chromatograph and/or Ion Chromatograph instrumentation.

• Maintaining equipment and instrumentation.

• Monitor and prioritize daily work lists to meet hold times and due dates.

• Following quality control procedures as outlined in documented procedures.

• Preparing standards and reagents.

• Documenting all lab activities in applicable logbooks and databases (e.g. sample prep, sample analysis, standard and reagent prep, instrument maintenance, etc.).

• Entering data into Pace Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as applicable.

• Performing routine maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.

• Disposing of samples and by-products per required procedures.

• Promotes cooperation and teamwork among staff.

• Following policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Other duties as assigned.

• BA/BS in a scientific field or 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience operating GC, GC/MS or IC instrumentation required

• Familiarity with EPA methodology such as: SW846-8015/8081/8082/8151/8141/8270/9056; EPA 300/608/625

• Must have the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

• Ability to communicate effectively written and verbal communications as well as documentation

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a group setting
