Description
The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs (KDVA) is charged with ensuring that all Kentucky veterans and their families obtain the benefits and services they have earned.
KDVA administers numerous veterans programs and facilities such as:
Veterans Benefits
Educational Benefits
Homeless Veterans Program
Women Veterans Program
Employment Services Program
Wounded/Disabled Veterans Program
Five State Veterans Cemeteries
Five State Veterans Centers for long-term skilled nursing care
KDVA is looking for a mission driven, self-motivated and energetic KY Veterans Center Administrator to work in our Bowling Green Veterans Center located in Warren County, who possesses the skills, knowledge, and desire to perform the following, but not limited to:
Lead a large, diverse team in providing skilled nursing care and services to veterans
Have the ability to build a new team from the ground up for a newly constructed facility
Innovation leadership focusing on person centered care and team member engagement
Regulatory compliance for state, federal and department of Veterans Affairs regulations and requirements
Focus on quality of care and services
Engage community leaders including local veteran service organizations
Be a true servant leader
The ideal candidate will work independently yet be part of a larger team to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky's Veterans.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of experience working within a healthcare field to include three years of supervisory experience in the management of a hospital, long-term care facility or healthcare operation.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in administration or supervision of a long-term care facility or related facility will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed as a Long-Term Care Administrator by the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Long-Term Care Administrators as required by KRS 216A.030 and KRS 216A.080 and defined by 201 KAR 6:020. https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/201/006/020/ https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52539 https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46796a Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
