Job Description:

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for Kubernetes Engineer to join our Cloud Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying Kubernetes, and supporting Docker containers in a cloud Linux/VMware environment. You will be responsible for using scripting and configuration management tools to automate the provisioning of new servers, recovery from critical events, and version control. You will define monitoring points and key performance metrics for alerting on critical infrastructure, and respond to escalated issues when required. Additional responsibilities include systems configurations, security, and supporting multiple teams in our environment (Software Development, QA, Tech Support, etc.).

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing

  • Documenting standardized processes for system deployment and management

  • Work closely with Software Development & Operations teams to provide fully automated deployment routines for production

  • Monitoring system activity and tuning system parameters for optimal performance, configuring communications with other platforms/networks, configuring/managing system security, and maintaining current release levels and patch revision

  • Work across functional (development, testing, deployment, systems/ infrastructure) and project teams to ensure continuous operation of all environments

  • Manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes

  • Work to continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of our systems and environments

  • Work directly with Agile Development teams to provide daily support aligned with a model of CI/CD

  • Build and maintain appropriate log gathering, system monitoring, and reporting infrastructures

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Linux administration, and VMware/vSphere in an AWS, Google Platform Cloud, Azure environment, or large scale private cloud environment

  • Experience building and implementing Kubernetes infrastructure in a large enterprise environment

  • Experience within configuration/provisioning tools such as Chef, Salt, Puppet, or Ansible

  • Strong scripting experience in languages such as Perl, Ruby, Python, or Bash

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for our Agile environment

  • Demonstrated experience with any of the following an asset:

  • Knowledge of build automation and CI/CD processes and tools such as Git and Bitbucket

  • Experience in messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.

The Manufacturing Engineer II provides project leadership for new product introductions, product enhancements and capital expenditures. The position will develop and implement tooling designs that will support all areas of production (machining and assembly) to perform consistently and efficiently. The Manufacturing Engineer will work cooperatively with employees in all areas of the company to achieve customer satisfaction while meeting corporate objectives. Qualifications We require: * Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial). * Minimum 7 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer. * Effective communication skills and ability to manage communications with internal and external customers in a professional manner. * Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and recommendations. * Ability to interpret an extensive variety of complex technical instructions in mathematical or illustrative form and work with information that is both abstract and variable. * Working knowledge of metal cutting, forming processes and CNC control. * Familiarity with SQC methods and concepts. * Experience in handling projects through all phases. * Experience in machine design and machine control systems. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, 3D CAD and solid Modeling preferred. * Oracle EBS/AGILE experience preferred. * Ability to write control logic programs for PLC's and CNC controls preferred.
