Over the past three years, the GBM team has completed more than 200 investment banking and capital markets assignments for clients ranging from large global institutions to regional firms and specialized boutiques.

Position Summary

The GBM Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate identification records in leading investment banks. S/he will provide core mapping and articulation of 'who is where' of North American sector industry teams, including managing directors and other senior level executives. To accomplish this, the analyst will draw upon prior professional experience to gather market intelligence and present the information. S/he will be external facing and must be comfortable conducting proactive outreach through phone calls and initiating conversation to capture and convey market observations and intelligence. In addition, the analyst may have opportunities to engage and contribute to knowledge management pieces on behalf of the Practice.

Over time, the GBM Analyst is expected to develop in-depth knowledge of executive leadership and organizational teams across a range of companies within the global banking and markets financial services sector. S/he will develop a deep understanding of leadership and a sophisticated skill set in the areas of research, problem solving, project management and communication.

This is a full time role located in one of the following Spencer Stuart offices: Boston, Philadelphia, Stamford or New York.

Ideal Experience

We are eager to hear from professionals with a minimum of 2 years full-time work experience in a research role in a professional services environment. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in liberal arts, business, or related fields of study including library and information studies.

The successful candidate is someone who is self-directed, independent and able to proactively address the needs of the practice. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated a passion and ability for performing critical research and communicating their findings clearly and cogently. They will be graceful under pressure, enjoy fast paced environments, and be excellent multitaskers.

Financial services experience is not necessary, but the ideal candidate will show interest in the sector and an eagerness to learn about it. Proficiency in PowerPoint is a must. Compensation and benefits are commensurate with other high-end professional services firms.

GT is currently looking to add an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to the Global Liquidity Management team to contribute to the development of an industry leading approach to liquidity management, with a focus on global intraday liquidity. The position reports to the Managing Director and Head of Intraday Liquidity, working closely with several stakeholders – global liquidity management function, Global Treasury units, IT partners and other functions across the bank, such as Finance, Global Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Recovery and Resolution Planning and Global Custody. This role offers opportunities for creative, analytical thinking, development of new management frameworks, growth into subject matter expertise and exposure to management through the preparation and delivery of presentations. In general, the responsibilities of this role include driving forward State Street's intraday liquidity management capabilities through strong data analytics and compelling, well-structured presentations of results. The role supports a critical effort to build out State Street's holistic view of active intraday management to satisfy regulatory, management and line of business requirements, establish a best in practice target operating model and drive toward the strategic management of intraday exposures under BAU, stress and RRP scenarios. A key focus of the role will be on advancing the centralized understanding of our financial market utilities, agent banks, sub custodian and correspondent bank relationships as they affect State Street's global liquidity position. Success in the role requires an ability to interact with multiple functions and internal subject matter experts at various levels of seniority. The role is not IT-oriented. Focus on thoughtful analytics and business problem solving. Position Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Work with subject matter experts globally to build a centralized understanding and framework for managing intraday liquidity drivers * Lead the creation of materials / presentations for SME discussion sessions and to facilitate management decision-making forums * Be a reliable point of contact for business units on the topic of intraday liquidity monitoring, management and reporting * Collaborate with Product Owners and the cross-functional governance body to manage and coordinate data / functionality demand from the global Functions * Partner with other members of Intraday Liquidity team and the Intraday Agile LAB (IT team) to drive the intraday data strategy in support of business needs * Assist in the completion of ad hoc deliverables and business presentations * Independent workstream ownership in support of broader business initiatives is expected once core content knowledge is sufficiently built up Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: * Four year business degree.
