We seek a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Staff Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in a licensed child care ministry . The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy kitchen environment while adhering to all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Using the food buying Guide for Child Nutrition Program provided by the USDA when creating new recipes in order to ensure that the proper components are
provided.
Complete annual CACFP trainings and all other required trainings.
Maintain daily count of meals served.
Keep accurate records including inventory and production records.
Comply with all Center regulations and guidelines.
Comply with all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.
Record freezer and refrigerator temperatures each morning .
prepare/ plate and deliver meals to classrooms.
Retrieve meal dishes from the classroom after each meal daily.
Every morning prepare water and cups for classroom
Wash and sanitize tables before and after each meal .
Sweep cafeteria floors after each meal .
Maintain a sanitary kitchen by keep kitchen, appliances, etc. clean, sanitized, and in good working condition.
Complete accurate food order requests and grocery shopping as needed.
Inventory food supply, reporting food supply needs to the Head Cook.
Submit food and milk receipts on a weekly basis for audit
Maintain an up to date record of food allergies.
Report to the Administrate Assistant any maintenance or non-food supply needs in the kitchen.
Assist with ordering supplies if requested.
Properly store food and non-food supplies upon delivery.
Keep all food items stored properly and at the appropriate temperature.
Date all food items.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent plus professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
Preferred: five years professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.
Food Handling License
Must have valid Driver license / car insurance and dependable vehicle
Must be able to work independently / get along with other/ team player
Must have good Written and verbal communication skill
Physical and Mental Demands:
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Ability to reach over head.
Good personal hygiene (clean clothes, hair, hands, nails, etc.).
Ability to bend down.
Finger dexterity.
Ability to read and understand all documents.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
Must have a negative TB test
Must submit and pass a back ground check and drug screen
