The Production Manager oversees all departments in a diverse healthcare kitchen environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and or implements and supervises programs on a variety of nutritionally balanced, well presented and cost effective menus.
Proficient in maintaining food cost relative to budget.
Meets with production staff daily to discuss operations.
Meets with supervisors and production staff to discuss daily menus, issues, and problems.
Directs, trains, supervises all assigned personnel.
Maintains various administrative materials including time sheets, accounting materials, schedules and safety records.
Performs a wide variety of high volume food production and preparation duties.
Ensures safe food and physical safety platform and program to comply with Food service and health care regulations.
Continuously improves the quality of provided services.
Oversees ordering, receiving inventory and communication with all vendors.
Inspects incoming freight against invoices and verifying supplies received.
Ensures a high degree of sanitation is observed in all assigned areas.
Directly supervises assigned food production employees in a high volume production kitchen.
Supervisory responsibilities include assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
May interview, hire, and train employees
This position is responsible for the supervision of staff.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have five (5) years experience in large scale food production environment with at least three (3) of those years managing a production staff of 25 or more.
Experience must also demonstrate knowledge of proper food service sanitation methods and equipment, supervisory skills, leadership skills, and food preparation quality control procedures.
Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
Must have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
Contract requires candidate to complete additional requirements by the client
Proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), TB, and any other immunizations and screenings designated in the current client Employee Health Program for Infection Control in Hospital Personnel.
Contractor may be required to maintain all employee health records on site.

Two (2) year culinary degree from an accredited college.
Candidates will have the ability to instruct and train others as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks occurring at the same time.

Description of environment: This is an industrial hospital kitchen located in a healthcare setting.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
