In our kitchens, we focus on fresh and simple ingredients. And we always have. Since the beginning, we've served chicken that is whole breast meat, with no added fillers or hormones, and we bread it by hand in our restaurants. Produce is delivered fresh to our kitchens several times a week. Salads are chopped and prepared fresh throughout the day. Whole lemons are freshly squeezed in our restaurants and combined with pure cane sugar and water (yep, that's all) to make Chick-fil-A Lemonade. It may not be the easy way, but it's the only way we know.

Position Summary

The Assistant Kitchen Manager is a key part of our team that is responsible for pursuing excellence, creating a remarkable experience for our guests, and working with Managers/Directors to operationally run a smooth shift.

Job Requirements

  • Embody a mindset focused on accuracy, follow-through, and urgency

  • Must be able to problem-solve using critical-thinking skills and appropriate resources

  • Offer and receive peer-to-peer coaching and accountability to continually improve the business, with key emphasis on operations.

  • Successfully communicate all systems, procedures and processes to team leaders and team members

Job Duties

  • Ensure food safety principles are met at all times.

  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, working with Directors to ensure all areas are functioning properly.

  • Set up position board, coordinate breaks, assist in finding coverage.

  • Continuously train, coach, mentor team members to build an active bench & structure.

  • Troubleshoot any inefficiencies and coordinate with Morning or Evening Director to rectify.

  • Establish communication and accountability lines to the team to minimize hold times and run an efficient kitchen.

  • Help to create and maintain a positive atmosphere in the midst of busy times.
