Qualis Corporation is currently seeking a Kinematics Modeling Engineer to support The Threat Modeling Center in Colorado. The Threat Modeling Center is responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and MDAs Ballistic Missile Defense System.
Responsible for developing and verifying that the threat models used to support BMDS events accurately reflect that missiles performance based on assessed, observed or engineered behaviors and specifications.
Understand basic space and missile system characteristics, body motion and rates, staging, object deployment, Euler angles/quaternions, and M&S principles.
Apply standard engineering and mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expected missile or space launch behavioral characteristics during all phases of powered and un-powered flight.
Work with minimal or no direct supervision, work as an integral member of a product delivery team, and meet time critical delivery schedules.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Aeronautics, Physics, or Math
Strong knowledge of the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of ballistic missiles
Active DoD Secret clearance
Must be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment
Modeling, Simulation, and automation experience
Strong math, physics or engineering background
Previous experience with modeling flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters of ballistic missiles
Strong background in missile system engineering performance
Mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris
Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance
