Hours: 2.75 hours/day; 5 days/week (6:45am-9:30am)

General Purpose of Job: To be responsible for planning and leading Kidstop activities for grades K-5.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ongoing program. Gather input from parents, staff, and children to use in planning.

  • Implement and participate in Kidstop Program that meets the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of the children. Promote effective use of time, materials and sets standard for student discipline.

  • To work with and support all children in the program.

  • Greet the parents and the children.

  • Work with and support all children in the program.

  • In cooperation with program manager, maintain the continual well being of the children in the program. This includes individual child conferences as needed with parents and staff.

  • Develop and implement a written plan of program activities on a regular basis.

  • Participate in all children's activities; leads small group activities.

  • Maintain an attractive and functional room environment; includes bulletin boards, lockers/closets, supervising clean-up time. Assist in the planning and purchasing of supplies and equipment.

  • Attend all staff meetings, in-service workshops, and Kidstop sponsored events.

  • Keep child related/program related records, such as attendance, programs, schedules, and others as determined by the program manager.

  • Be knowledgeable of the overall philosophy of Kidstop and the policies and procedures of the individual program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age, but 21 years of age is preferred at the time of employment.

  • Must have 12 semester credits or more in the area of child development/program.

  • Must have 2,080 hours of direct work experience within the kindergarten-5th grade age group.

  • Experience must include planning and implementing educational activities for students.

  • Current First Aid and CPR training within 90 days of employment.

Program Managers will work with all staff to build a fun, safe and enriching experience for students in K-5th grades. Responsibilities: * Work with and support all students in the program. * Gather input from families, students and staff in developing activities, camps and clubs. * Implement and participate in Kidstop program that meets the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of students. * In cooperation with Program Managers, Lead Instructors and site-based staff, maintain the continual well-being of the students in the program. * Develop, support and lead a variety of enriching activities that promote the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs and ages of the students. * Engage with all students in activities; lead small group activities. * Intentionally promote health, positive sense of self and wellness in program content. * Be a positive role model and leader to staff and students. * Carry out the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Kidstop and District 279. * Communicate verbally and in writing accidents or incidents concerning children or staff in conjunction with the site and program leaders. Observing, collecting, documenting and reporting data as directed through an IEP if applicable. Communicate with appropriate personnel as dictated by Federal Education Reporting Practices Act (FERPA) and District and program policies. * Attend staff meetings, in-service workshops and program-sponsored events. * Perform additional site duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years of age (prefer age 21) * Must have 12 semester credits or more in the area of child development area * Must have 2,080 hours of direct work experience within the Kindergarten-5th grade age group. * Commitment to the Mission of District 279 * Experience in planning and implementing educational activities for children and youth, including content areas of health/fitness, science, social skill building, literacy, science, music, art * Ability to implement program-wide initiatives including service learning, health and fitness * Skills that include organization, confidence, patience, understanding, teamwork and communication. * Current First Aid and CPR certification Job Type: Part-time, Summer Bargaining Unit: Kidstop Instructors Salary: Per Contract Osseo Area Schools Osseo MN
