The kids Coordinator (birth-5s) provides leadership and oversight for Gateway Kids ministry-children birth through five years old-and helps kids have fun and experience God.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction for kids team members who are serving with children ages birth through five years old.

  • Facilitate ongoing training of kids team members, ministry leads, and key campus leaders.

  • Oversee all (weekday, weekend, and special event) nursery, early childhood, and preschool curriculum implementation and programming.

  • Oversee part-time service captains serving children ages birth through five years old.

  • Schedule nursery, early childhood, and preschool service captains, ministry leads, team members, and volunteers for all weekend services.

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, training, and retaining team members.

  • Communicate weekly with all team members who are serving children ages birth through five years old.

  • Communicate regularly with the central kids team.

  • Pursue ongoing growth in job knowledge through training, conferences, other leaders, and resources.

  • Attend all nursery, early childhood, and preschool curriculum and training meetings requested by the central team.

  • Counsel workers, volunteers, and parents as needed and meet with new parents for introduction to and vision casting for Gateway Kids.

  • Plan and prepare for quarterly child dedication services.

  • Assist with ordering and upkeep of supplies, toys, etc., for all classrooms (birth-5s).

  • Perform any task assigned by the kids pastor or central team.

General Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn new software and systems

General Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the

employee is regularly required to:

  • Sit/stand for long periods of time.

  • Occasionally kneel or crouch.

  • Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
