Title: KGOUHost / Social Media Coordinator

KGOUpublic radio is looking for a new on-air voice to greet afternoon listeners inthe Oklahoma City metro area. Our next local All Things Considered host will be an engaging announcer andnewscaster with a conversational on-air sound. This person will also possesssharp news instincts and strong storytelling skills, with an ability to informand entertain KGOU's second largest weekday audience.
Theother half of the job will be dedicated to being KGOU's voice on social media.We're looking for a self-starter who can take a creative approach to socialmedia, help reporters elevate their online stories, and manage a live blogduring breaking news situations.
KGOU hasa strong tradition of local, state and regional news coverage, and the new Host/ Social Media Coordinator will play a key role in shaping our on-air sound. Ournewsroom has won many awards, including 8 Oklahoma Associated Press"Sweepstakes Awards." KGOU stories are regularly heard on NPR, and the All Things Considered host will becalled on to file national spot news. The successful candidate will also be expectedto find audio for newscasts, update newscast stories, and occasionally serve asemcee/station representative at KGOU events.
Theposition is open until filled. The hourly salary is $17.31.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, communication, political science or other appropriate field, or an equivalentcombination of education/job related experience, AND:
24 months experience in broadcasting
At least one year experience doing social media for an organization
Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style
Experience with web posting, broadcasting and audio editing software and equipment
Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
