POSITION OVERVIEW

The purpose of the Key Accounts Professional Services Veterinarian is to meet the technical needs of strategic and key account customers in collaboration with sales and marketing team members. Key accounts may include corporate hospital groups, large specialty hospitals, e-commerce channels, veterinary distributors, and select colleges of veterinary medicine. This individual will interact with our veterinary key account customer base by networking within leadership structure and providing disease state education and product training to build brand awareness and affinity. The role also supports the veterinary sales team through trainings and technical support by phone, in-person, and at select veterinary conferences. Finally, the entire veterinary services organization lends expertise and veterinary channel perspective across the business to build and maintain long term success.

This is a remote eligble role with a focus on Western and Southwestern customers and veterinary schools, and thusly has a preference for individuals who live within 50 miles of Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. This candidate, while remote, requires travel (up to 50%) for local and national events and customer visits.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Execute the following responsibilities with a moderate degree of independence, while maintaining an understanding of the business goals and strategies, products, markets, customers, competitive situations, and key players related to our products

  • Networking and relationship building within leadership structure of target corporate, specialty, e-commerce, and veterinary distributor customers

  • Value-add content creation and delivery to drive brand awareness and affinity among all stakeholders

  • Closely partner with sales and marketing to achieve role priorities

  • Conduct technically-focused field visits among target customers independently and with veterinary clinic specialists

  • Represent Blue Buffalo and General Mills at regional and national conferences through booth discussions, KOL engagement, and content delivery

  • Strategic execution College of Veterinary Medicine strategy, including recruiting and maintaining student ambassadors, feeding programs, content delivery, and partnership exploration among faculty and development teams at targeted veterinary colleges

  • Champion an animal health and veterinary perspective throughout the General Mills organization, including pipeline insight, industry trends, market needs, and scientific expertise

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical companion animal veterinary general or specialty practice and experience in academia (Adjunct, Associate or Tenured Professor), vet distribution companies, pet e-commerce, pet nutrition/food or other pet industry experiences

  • Strong medical background and proficient knowledge of companion animal nutrition

  • Familiarity with the animal health industry landscape, including market dynamics, business trends, and important players

  • Relationship building, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills

  • Competency in Microsoft software

  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally to build strong networks and advance business priorities

  • Highly motivated, results-driven mindset

  • Skillful in translating business requirements to actionable solutions and providing input into developing compelling proposals

  • Ability & Comfort to travel up to 50% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in the animal nutrition space

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $106800.00 - $160300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
