Job Summary

Work with cross functional team to develop and execute strategic initiatives for Chinet Brand and Store Brand products at various retailers including, but not limited to, Safeway, Associated Food Stores, Stater Brothers, Basha's, Super Store Industries, HEB, WinCo, URM Stores, and Smart & Final. This will include efforts related to broker management, forecasting, replenishment, promotions, reporting, category management initiatives, as well as management of external portals.

Essential Functions

  • Create and manage the implementation of selling strategies that will promote the sales of branded and private brand products to various customers. This would include achieving maximum account penetration throughout region.

  • Perform data analysis and lead category reviews, develop/lead action plans to grow existing business through both volume and margin improvement, promotional planning, execute sales/marketing initiatives and develop sales and product forecasts with customers.

  • Introduce new products and lead customer/supplier relationship.

  • Create and qualify new retail opportunities where Huhtamaki can participate. Maximize omnichannel/ecommerce presence through digitalization excellence.

  • Identify and develop path to support our customers' and Huhtamaki's sustainability initiatives.

  • Drive internal collaboration within Huhtamaki by analyzing information concerning market conditions, competitive situations, industry, and customer updates.

  • A portion of the region is managed by various broker organizations. Must have the ability to develop KPIs to ensure and review performance.

  • Develop connections throughout the broker organizations to build better relationships with our customers. Some of the broker organizations in this region include The Performance Group North, The Performance Group South, and Acosta.

  • Assist with input of the development of new products and suggestions of improved go to market strategies that will deliver a value-add proposition for the category, consumer, and the trade within the region.

  • Assist in developing marketing activities and merchandising vehicles that extend brand reach beyond the current applications and usage of the existing product dynamics.

  • Work with a high level of proficiency in the customers' systems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of retail benefits selling with an extensive knowledge of merchandiser retailing, including advertising and merchandising planning, inventory turnover, return on investment, and sales per square foot, plus the overall ability to use tact and discretion to achieve results through others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including face-face presentations to large and small groups.

  • Superior analytical skills, such as creating and interpreting Nielsen and other consumption data, negotiation skills or work experience demonstrated.

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Office).

  • Remain knowledgeable about the fast-moving developments in the retailing and merchandising fields.

  • Manage and control expenses within cost budgets, and report expenses in a timely manner.

Preferred

  • 4-year degree (BA/BS) in business or a related field.

  • Advanced Degree(s) - Marketing, Accounting/Finance, Economics, Packaging, or similar work experience in one of these disciplines.

  • 2+ years sales experience selling CPG experience with a career progression that would include P&L responsibility at the account level, region level and general management concepts such as planning, accounting, administration, and economics.

Environment

  • Work within an office type setting most of each day with controlled climate conditions.

  • Hybrid schedule.

  • Travel is expected.
