Job Description:
3M is currently seeking a Sales Representative to represent Scotchlight Reflective Materials for the Personal Safety Division based in the Eastern United States.

The position of Sales Representative for Scotchlite Reflective Materials, Personal Safety Division (PSD) is responsible for calling on garment manufacturers, converters and brand specifiers to drive and exceed your individual annual growth targets for SRM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead competitive conversions

  • Execute on new product launches/intros

  • Support/Lead qualifications

  • Identify new business opportunities and negotiate new specifications

  • Develop Key Account penetration plans and lead their executions with the cross functional team

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of three (3) years of combined Sales and/or Key Account Management experience in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Distribution and Channel Management

  • Current, Valid Drivers license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Regulated garment manufacturing market experience

  • Proven ability to position value/benefits with Key Accounts decision makers, ability to initiate and develop successful selling strategies, ability to fully negotiate contracts/specifications and close profitable business

  • Demonstrable sales success in meeting or exceeding quotas

  • Solid understanding of end-user customer specification process

  • Good understanding of the industrial channel

  • Ability to lead without direct authority

  • Customer first, client-centric in style

  • Demonstrate initiative, innovation, continual learning and personal development

Location: Remote location within Eastern US (NY, MA, PA, CT, DC, ME, NJ, NH, MD, DE )

Travel: more than 50% travel is anticipated

Relocation: No relocation is authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

These positions will be available in various US locations to be determined; and require the successful candidates to re-locate anywhere within the continental US based on available/open territories. Job Summary: The Industrial Customer Sales Specialist at 3M will be responsible for calling on manufacturing facilities and industrial distributors. This position drives profitable business sales in assigned geography, accounts and/or distribution. The program provides a full twelve months of training in conjunction with field junction responsibility to create "territory readiness" within the first year of employment with 3M. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Sales of Industrial Products such as: Abrasives, Scotch Brite, Pressure Sensitive Tapes and/or Liquid Adhesives * Understanding of customer processes and being able to sell "value versus price" * Working with distribution, end user specification, material approvals, making joint calls, and providing product training to customers * Driving forecast attainment for the zone/territory assigned * Daily usage of salesforce.com CRM system required. Critical Skills: * Strong oral, written and presentation skills * Ability to show 3M value proposition through hands-on demonstration * Motivation to take an active role in self-development * Excellent computer skills This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career. Successful candidates will be provided a company car in addition to a base salary and quarterly sales incentive. Qualified candidates must possess a current and valid drivers' license. Location: This position may require you to relocate to other areas of the continental US to fill open territories based on business need. 3M would provide relocation assistance in this case.
