As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for engaging and expanding our existing media customer base by building strong relationships throughout the organization, showing value to customers through a focus on ROI, and positioning DZone.com as a strategic partner. You will manage a pipeline of existing customers and close high value renewal and expansion deals with a "customer first" mentality. As a member of our media sales organization, you must thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. You must make the commitment to learning our business by staying up to date on the industry, our products and competition. Most of all, you will need to be relentless as you strive to exceed goals!
Proactively manage your existing customer base to nurture, renew, and grow your accounts through developing organizational account plans
Develop and maintain existing customer strategies to drive adoption of DZone.com media products
Present the value propositions of DZone.com and our products by engaging with existing customers via phone, email, and in-person meetings
Manage existing customer communications between internal teams
Resolve existing customer issues in a timely matter, including developing strategies to improve execution and drive results
Identify potential improvements for current campaigns and proactively communicate recommendations to your existing customer base
What We Look For:
5+ years of experience in a consultative sales or account management role, closing business
Track record of persistence, accomplishments and exceeding sales quotas
Proven "customer first" experience and mindset and high customer retention metrics
Relentless drive, passion, and perseverance when it comes to managing a large pipeline of sales opportunities and delivering consistent and quality results
An entrepreneurial mindset demonstrated by creative thinking, problem solving, and a willingness to learn and develop
Experience leveraging data to inform process and decisions, particularly with Salesforce.com
