Position Summary

Responsible for partnering with account managers of complex and high-touch accounts to help capture customer opportunities in Tech Computing categories. Account Executives are responsible for working with their managers to prioritize and respond to account manager needs for expert support at identified opportunities with customers, Account Executives will frequently visit customers to market Staples offerings across Tech Computing categories and offer their expertise to help close a deal.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responding to prioritized support requests the Account Executive will receive high-priority account manager requests from the Regional Sales Director and must coordinate response and required visits, both with the Account Manager and sometimes with just the Account Executive

  • Teaming with Account Managers to plan growth strategies across complex and high touch accounts

  • Visiting customers to help the Account Manager close Tech Computing deals by bringing expertise and knowledge of Staples' offering

  • Ensuring executed wins by passing won opportunities to Key Account Managers and Customer Success Consultants to facilitate the execution of won deals

  • Facilitating issue and admin work to the Customer Success Consultant the Account Executive will pass admin and administrative work through the Customer Success Consultant

  • Coordinating with inside Tech team as needed



  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated successful strategic relationship building and solution selling experience in the Fortune 1000 and/or Global 500 market

  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills and persuasive interpersonal and form presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability with prospecting and selling individually, as well as working effectively in team selling situations with other Staples lines of business as well as with internal resources.

  • Thorough and deep understanding and familiarity of current geographic marketplace and be well connected, or able to quickly connect with decision makers and influencers within the IT and procurement areas of the targeted organizations within the market.

  • Self-starter with strong self-management skills and demonstrated success in larger contract long sell cycle environments.


  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Technology Industry

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Working knowledge of CRM tools (i.e.

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and enhancing existing client relationships, as well as with internal stakeholders. Ensuring that revenue and EBITDA targets for Key Accounts are met through regular face-to-face visits to client sites and through the preparation of proposals for client projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Develop and execute business plan and account management tactics which support the strategies to ensure continued growth in core services revenue and profitability for each assigned account * Act as the global point of contact for Almac Clinical Services; promote a range of services to well established business critical accounts; arrange and participate in face-to-face meetings as required and ensure that their allocated accounts are kept up-to-date * Gain an understanding as to the needs of each assigned client, in order to offer patient centric innovative solutions * Provide marketplace competitor intelligence, in addition sharing client insights which may serve to inform business development management and marketing with new ideas for internal and external process improvement * Act as the central point of contact for clients throughout the quoting process; drive an internal team in order to complete and maintain proposals based on the scope of services required. It is the responsibility of the KAM to ensure that the global capacity and facilities of Clinical Services are considered as part of all quotations and that work is placed in the appropriate Clinical Services facility or facilities Education: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required; Bachelor's degree within a Life Science or Business related discipline preferred Experience: * Minimum five years' experience as a sales representative or sales manager in the clinical or commercial pharmaceutical B2B sales or the clinical or commercial pharmaceutical packaging industry * Knowledge of clinical trials and the pharmaceutical industry OR knowledge of the clinical pharmaceutical supply or commercial pharmaceutical supply packaging industry OR knowledge of clinical pharmaceutical or commercial pharmaceutical logistics/supply chain management * Strong understanding of core account management or business development processes, including but not limited to business planning, sales forecasting, sales funnel lifecycle management, key account management principles * Experience within a customer facing B2B sales role with a clinical supply focus, with a strong track record of consistently meeting / exceeding sales objectives * Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentational and interpersonal) and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize * Practical experience with CRM software * Interpersonal and relationship management skills both internal and external customers; Confident presenting to groups of key decision makers on business solutions, service offerings etc. (to include both preparation and delivery of presentation materials) * Understanding of all policies used within Almac Clinical Services Business Development to price work and ensure Almac receives revenue from all quoted services OR similar experience * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) * Valid state driver's license and valid passport with no restrictions; ability to travel nationally and globally up to 50% of the time Working at Almac Group is exciting, sometimes challenging but always rewarding.
