Kennel Assistant
Central Coast Pet Emergency Hospital is a 24/7 veterinary emergency care facility located in Arroyo Grande. We are currently seeking a full-time Kennel Assistant to work 30-40 hours per week.
Job responsibilities include:
Animal care as directed by veterinarians and clinical staff.
Assist in the observation of hospitalized patients.
Walk animals as instructed and assist in animal restraint for medical procedures.
Clean, sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.
Stocking of supplies throughout the hospital.
Clean/disinfect cages, exam rooms, and treatment areas of hospital.
Daily cleaning of hospital premises including laundry.
Filling prescriptions, measuring medications, and labeling containers.
Assist with the collection and processing of lab samples.
Provide back-up support to the Client Service Team.
Qualities desired include:
Small animal handling experience.
Professional and courteous demeanor
Work collaboratively with hospital team members
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pro-active and self-directed
Able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Hours: 4-10 hour shifts Wednesdays through Saturdays, 11: 30am-10pm with some variations.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with experience
