Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel/Hospital Assistant to join our dynamic team at our emergency veterinary hospital. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate care and attention to animals in our care.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kennel areas, including regular cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection of kennels and cages.

• Walk dogs in accordance to their treatment schedule.

• Monitor animals for any signs of discomfort, illness, or behavioral changes and alert medical team.

• Assist with break down and prepping of procedure areas.

• Maintain inventory of supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished. Making sure the treatment floor remains fully stocked throughout your shift.

• Maintain the laundry process throughout shift (washing, drying and folding all laundry).

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or kennel environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
