Kafka System Administrator

If so, Guardian is seeking KAFKA Admin to support Kafka and Websphere environments hosting internally developed applications. Environments supported include Web Servers and Tomcat based environments.
You are:
A self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, able to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights who thrives in partnering across the company with software developers and data engineers, economists and statisticians and product creators and marketers.
You have:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Strong experience in building and administering Apache/Confluent Kafka messaging platform.
Strong experience is designing and building highly available high-volume messaging infrastructure with Apache Kafka on AWS (e.g. stretch cluster, active/active or active/passive) using Mirror Maker or other replication tools.
Good experience with Schema Registry, Kafka connectors (source and sink) and KSQL, have worked with Kafka brokers, Zookeeper, Topics, connectors for Setup and administration
Strong experience in setting up monitoring and management with tools. Working knowledge integration of monitoring, management tools and data growth management
Preferred experience in Kafka security (Encryption and Authentication with SSL, SASL, ACLs).
Good experience in documenting and implementing best practices and optimizing Kafka, Zookeeper and JVM.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Shell, Puppet, Artifactory, and Terraform will be a huge plus.
Experience with AWS, Java/Scala, Spark will be a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills to ensure minimum downtime of production data platform.
You will:
Design, build and support highly available Kafka clusters.
Conduct performance and failover testing to measure and improve platform KPIs.
Resolve production issues including platform tuning, optimization and recovery.
Perform installation, upgrades, capacity planning, migration across multiple data centers for messaging platform.
Proactively monitor and fix middleware platform availability and performance issues.
Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solution to maximize platform availability during planned or unplanned outages.
Use/Develop automation tools to automate repetitive tasks.
Respond appropriately to emergency support situations and produce quick and effective solutions to platform technical problems under high pressure.
Participate in an On-Call rotation and other duties as defined by management.

Salary Range
$79,450.00 - $147,550.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
