K-8 Spanish Teacher - Hartland Elementary School

We are currently seeking a K-8 Spanish Teacher to work at the Hartland Elementary School.

Hartland Elementary School is located in the center of the vibrant Upper Valley. It is in close proximity to Dartmouth College and less than a two hour trip to Boston.

Hartland Elementary School is a public elementary school serving approximately 250 students in grades K-8. Our school is dedicated to a student centered approach through projects, an integrated curriculum, differentiated instructional strategies, and proficiency based learning. We value educating the whole child through a team approach. We are an enthusiastic and inclusive community committed to student agency and self-directed learning.

Summary:
Hartland School is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic K-8 Spanish Teacher.. The successful candidate must be collaborative and flexible, and have strong relationship building skills.

The successful candidate will have:
experience creating engaging curriculum related to the ACTFL proficiency guidelines. Ideally the candidate will have experience teaching Spanish with a goal of implementing an immersion program.
have a creative, dynamic, and enthusiastic personality
knowledge of best practices regarding student management
collaboration skills
knowledge of assessments practices and use of data to inform instruction
evidence of strong relationship building skills

Preferred, but not required:
Responsive Classroom training
Collaborative Problem Solving training

Qualifications: Vermont certified or willing to become certified in Spanish K-8. Candidates with additional endorsements and/or academic preparation will be strongly considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Solid understanding of best teaching practices
Take initiative, and engage in self-reflection
Demonstrate the ability to foster a positive rapport with students and families
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members
Motivate and engage students
Enjoy co-planning/teaching and have experience integrating curriculum
Familiarity with the Common Core State Standards and proficiency based education
Ability to implement best practices in a classroom and have the ability to use data to inform instruction
Interest, willingness, and/or experience integrating and advancing practices of diversity, equity and inclusion
Create engaging curriculum related to the ACTFL proficiency guidelines
Develop and support strong relationships
Interest, willingness, and/or experience integrating and advancing practices of diversity, equity and inclusion
