K-12 Kitchen Manger Reports to CEO/CN Director

General Summary-Coordinates and manages the food service program at the Elementary and High School campuses.

Essential Functions:

Supervises food preparation for schools and menu development
Cooks, prepares individual portions, and performs other food preparation duties at both campuses as needed
Maintains inventory of both campuses-ensuring everything is dated and identified as commodity as needed
Orders inventory for both campuses; prepares, receives, and verifies food/supply orders according to schedule. Submits orders through established ordering procedures. Performs weekly inventory of food/supplies
Ensures oldest food items are served first
Works with commodity orders to build into menu planning
Develops menus through Menu Freedom/NuristudentK-12
Monitors all logs; temp, calibration, production records, waste, transfer
Oversees daily operations at both campuses
Provides leadership and direction for all food service staff
Provides orientation and training to new food service staff
Coordinates, schedules, and assigns work for food service staff
Checks quality of work by monitoring all food service staff actions
Oversees food service employee relations and resolves staff grievances if necessary
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Assists in daily food preparation for both school campuses as needed
Inspects food quality and quantity, K-12 recipe compliance, cafeteria cleanliness and service on a continual basis
Supervises and assists in cleaning kitchen, storerooms, refrigerators and other kitchen equipment such as utensils, trays, mixers, machines, etc.
Is trained on register to operate as needed
Works with student/parents/faculty employees to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution
Maintain Safe Serve license
Attend all needed training required by the Arkansas Department of Education, Child Nutrition Unit
Other duties as assigned
