SALARY: $21,229.00-$28,574.00 (or per the 2023 - 2024 Salary Schedule)
~Position is Temporary for the remainder of the 2023-2024 year~
REPLACES: Briana Stevens Zonneyville (Re-assigned)
Qualifications:
(1) Shall be duly qualified as a high school graduate and have attained a score of 457 or higher on the Praxis Paraprofessional Exam, or hold an AA;
AS; AAS degree or a minimum of 60 college credit hours.
(2) Possess Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate if required.
(3) Or other appropriate certificates/licenses required by the District.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and understanding of students with moderate, profound, and/or physical disabilities. Ability to apply knowledge to group and individual situations.
Ability to listen and follow oral and written directions. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Possess basic mathematics skills.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ability to work as a team member. Willing to learn the unique educational and/or personal needs to assist an individual student. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Teacher/Principal/Administrator's Designee
JOB GOAL
To assist the teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning environment in which students with moderate, profound, and/or physical disabilities can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.
SUPERVISES:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning/Preparations
Administrative/Management
(5) Provide assistance with classroom tasks to individual students, both regular education and special education students.
(6) Adhere to specific emergency procedures designed for the classroom and prepare to assume assigned role.
(7) Practice prescribed infection control procedures.
(8) Maintain strict confidentiality of student data and records.
Intervention/Direct Services
(9) Provide assistance with student's behavior management plan as stated in student's IEP.
(10) Prepare student's lunches if required by special dietary, health, or physical needs.
(11) Assist in maintaining an attractive and orderly environment.
(12) Supervise students inside and outside, including, but not limited to, classroom activities, cafeteria, field trips, and bus loading and unloading.
Collaboration
(13) Assist in communications with parents as directed by teacher.
Systemic Function
(14) Appear before the Board as needed.
Professional Responsibilities
(15) Assist teacher with preparation of materials and equipment.
(16) Assist teacher with record-keeping, reporting, filing, and other clerical duties.
(17) Assist teacher with assessment of student progress.
(18) Administer medication to students in compliance with District policies.
(19) Provide appropriate modifications needed as specified on student's IEP.
(20) Accompany student to classroom, activities, and other areas, if assigned, to serve the student's unique educational and/or personal needs.
(21) Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
(22) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
(23) Model and maintain high ethical standards.
(24) Follow attendance, punctuality, and other qualities of an appropriate work ethic.
(25) Shall assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
