This role is fully remote due to COVID-19. Long term, flexibility is needed to be onsite at the Southeast Juvenile Facility/Probation office in Mesa. Applicants must be local to Phoenix, AZ.
Utilizes critical thinking and knowledge of program requirements, network and community resources, and Medicaid benefits to facilitate appropriate physical and behavioral healthcare and social services for members through collaboration with clinical and program staff, direct provider collaboration, and coordination of psychosocial wraparound services to promote effective utilization of available resources, optimal member functioning, and cost-effective healthcare outcomes. This position is a member of the Juvenile Justice Engagement Team (JJET) and acts as a Liaison for all of our Juvenile Justice partners throughout the state.
The position is responsible for connecting juvenile justice involved members to services and resolving barriers or conflicts to the member receiving medically necessary services. This is achieved through a variety of channels including: managing the 24 hr and 72 hr detention rosters; facilitating MHBG funding requests; processing and following JJACC referrals for services; and carrying a CYPM & HIP/SYC caseload. This position also represents the organization on juvenile justice oriented committees, and at community events. Other duties as assigned.
Experience with the Juvenile Justice system (Juvenile Probation/Detention/Juvenile Courts), the juvenile welfare system (DCS), and the behavioral health system for children preferred
Strong general knowledge of the health benefits business and medical management required
Experience working with diverse populations required
1+ year of experience treatment planning and understanding of medical necessity required
Demonstrated analytical skills and organization, with critical thinking and decision-making skills required
Bachelor's degree or non-licensed master level clinician required, with either degree being in behavioral health or human services preferred (psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or criminal justice).
