Overview

JUNIOR TECHNICAL WRITER/ EDITOR (FS&S)

Bowhead seeks a Junior Technical Writer/Editor to support the Acquisition and Organic Supply Operations Support FS&S contract in Stafford, VA. The Technical Writer/Editor must have expertise in Marine Corps Acquisitions and Logistics and the ability to write and update material for reports, manuals, briefs, instruction books, catalogs and related technical publications. This is a high paced dynamic rewarding work environment supporting multiple acquisition teams.

Responsibilities

• Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces technical data for major publication projects.

• Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.

• May participate in the establishment of style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or BA/BS plus four (4) years of technical writing experience

• Experience editing technical paper and publications in a government environment plus knowledge of working with scientific and technical subject matter is preferred.

• Must have experience working as an editor.

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 5-10 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location.
