About this Job
Avum is in search of an analyst proficient in technical writing to support our team in managing project deliverables, facilitating team meetings, and organizing agile scrum artifacts. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for customer interactions, including providing status updates, arranging presentations/demos, scheduling meetings, maintaining records, updating Jira & Confluence, and directing inquiries to the appropriate team member. The ideal candidate must communicate complex project or product-specific concepts clearly, concisely, and accurately to a broad audience. Acting as the liaison between our engineers, external users, and developers, this position is crucial for ensuring effective communication and preventing costly errors. The ability to multitask across multiple projects simultaneously, from handling requests to updating Jira & Confluence to creating visual representations using tools like Visio, OmniGraffle, or PowerPoint, is essential. Proficiency in developing comprehensive written and oral communication packages for internal and external audiences is a must.
Moreover, the candidate will function as a functional analyst for the customer's business systems, learning new applications and business processes to document and communicate system gaps with customer requirements. Guiding the development team on user interface design and system functionality from the customer's perspective will also be a key responsibility. Addressing customer inquiries regarding systems/applications, researching open requests, and liaising with external contacts for answers is part of the role. Effective coordination with external system points of contact to set up interfaces and resolve issues is necessary, as is understanding how to collaborate with customers to receive product releases and manage change control board (CCB) procedures.
Additionally, job tasks will involve writing, editing, formatting, and ensuring the quality control of various client-facing deliverables, such as progress reports, procedural documentation, and technical processes. Proficiency in project backlog management using Jira is required.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience as a Scrum Master or Analyst, along with the ability to engage in self-directed learning under moderate guidance from senior company leaders.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for collaborating effectively with engineering and analyst teams and coordinating with government stakeholders.
The candidate should feel at ease working with a diverse team of individuals, both locally and remotely. Success in this dynamic role requires a constant commitment to learning and knowledge-sharing in a fast-paced environment. Avum offers an exciting, high-energy workplace that rewards dedication and innovation.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to pass a T3 background investigation.
Location
For this fully remote position, the candidate must be available to participate in virtual meetings via platforms like Microsoft Teams. Core hours are from 9 AM PST/PDT to 4 PM PST/PDT, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support EST core hours as necessary.
As part of the remote setup, the candidate will collaborate with external project team members and Avum employees. Although primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings may be required, potentially including travel to government sites in Washington, D.C., and the Avum office in Agoura Hills, California.
