BAPI is looking for a Junior Technical Product Manager for our main office in Gays Mills, WI. BAPI is a premier sensor manufacturer for HVAC/R, specializing in sensors for temperature, humidity, pressure, wireless and air quality monitoring. The Junior Technical Product Manager is an entry-level role focused on candidate training. This person will be required to establish a sound BAPI product, customer, and HVAC/R industry knowledge base. Upon completion of the 12-18 -month program, this person should be able to comprehend details of BAPIs entire product line, provide technical support for BAPI products, and assist in the design and development of new products.
If this person successfully passes the training program, they would transition to a Junior Technical Product Manager assisting with BAPIs Product Development Process. This position will support BAPIs existing products and assist with promotion and launch of new products. This role will provide technical support that will grow our business, which requires exceptional people skills, technical aptitude, strong understanding of wireless technologies and thrives on new challenges. The Junior Technical Product Manager will learn how to build strong relationships and identify creative solutions to meet customer needs and grow our business.
All training will occur in Gays Mills and this individual will cycle through a variety of departments in order to build their knowledge base following the direction of experienced staff. As a member of the Product Management team, there is a strong focus to build long term partnerships with our customers by serving as a technical resource, solving problems and developing innovative HVAC/R offering solutions which exceed their expectations.
Actively participate in a 12-18 month training program, intentionally growing knowledge and understanding of BAPI products, our customers and the HVAC/R industry.
This person will cycle through several departments to expand knowledge, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Production.
Once training completed this individual will transition to the Product Management Department and:
Assist Technical Project Managers as they guide Product Development through BAPIs Project Development Process
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external business partners to delivering solutions to customers which exceeds their expectations
Define product features through market research studies and in discussions with customers
Review product designs and support the creation of test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments
Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) initiatives in new product designs and technical refreshes
Review detailed execution plans and schedules of the team to update and coordinate changes to existing projects
Support RMA and collateral activities to analyze failure data and component obsolescence identifying proactive methods for preventing future failures and to drive component end-of-life decisions
Establish and maintain successful ongoing relationships with customers/vendors
Provide technical support and trouble-shooting for new customer product releases
Participate in individual and group projects as directed
Create reports, charts, graphics, articles, and other resources that promote the product
Work with Sales and Marketing to Demo products for customers
Work with marketing to develop diverse communication platforms to promote new products
Required Associates Degree, Trade or Technical School in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or similar degree; Bachelors Degree preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel and Outlook Required
Demonstrated ability to document processes, procedures, instructions and findings
At least one year experience working in wireless platforms and related technologies
Experience with Electronics Circuits
Preferred 1-2 years of technical experience; at the completion of training must understand BAPI products or HVAC industry
Preferred 1-2 years of project management experience or successful customer relationships
Preferred experience in assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting small electronic components and products
Preferred experience reading complex schematics of digital and analog circuitry
Preferred working knowledge of HVAC Industry
Experience with troubleshooting and debugging as well as rework and repair electronic assemblies preferred
Technical Writing experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and cool in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and pleasant manner
Self-motivated with a proven ability to learn on the job and problem solve
Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, focus, organization and a willingness to work toward defined goals
Must be very flexible and supportive of changing requirements

This position offers a Monday through Friday dayshift schedule with minimal nights and weekends, but this position may require for the employee to work a longer shift to meet deadlines, complete goals and address needs of position.
