Everest Reinsurance, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking a Junior Engineer for its headquarters in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. The recently formed Everest Digital Workplace Team is seeking this Engineer who is interested in becoming our subject matter expert for our Desktop Virtualization initiative.
While direct experience in this area of responsibility is not required, it is considered a plus. The aptitude, energy, ability, and educational background are required for this role as listed below.
The ideal person to fill this role will be someone who is enthusiastic about following the ever-changing landscape of technology services, is eager to learn quickly on the job, and who has interest in the following:
Engineering and administration of hybrid VDI solutions
Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures; contributing to and maintaining system standards, policies, and procedures
Maintaining system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshooting, researching, maintaining the lifecycle of system hardware
Willingness to become the technical subject matter expert for desktop virtualization at Everest
Being a mentor and a willingness to train other team members on troubleshooting, maintenance, and administration of the Enterprise VDI environment
Developing and document SOPs to be followed by 24x7 support teams
Continuously evaluating the Everest systems environment for improvement opportunities and make recommendation for enhancement
Learning and having an in-depth understanding of how the VDI system interacts with and is dependent on other core IT infrastructure and systems
Maintaining the security compliance and configuration management of the VDI systems and platform
Being part of a team that provides Digital Workplace capabilities, solutions, and recognizes customer service is of the upmost importance
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field is REQUIRED.
While direct experience in this area of responsibility is not required, it is considered a plus.
