L3 Applied Defense Solutions Chantilly is looking for a self-starting, entrepreneurial, team oriented Junior Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team of engineers working in collaboration with a Government Customer to redefine space operations and decision-making at a National level. The successful candidate will work well under pressure and have the ability to work within aggressive timelines on capabilities and technologies with a wide range of maturity levels (TRL 2 8). Primary duties include critical contributions to: technical planning, systems integration, documentation, system performance modeling, verification and validation, cost and risk estimation, evaluation of system supportability and effectiveness.
Define, plan, coordinate, and manage engineering activities
Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of missing needs to verification of system performance
Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI with Poly
Bachelor's in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related discipline and 2 years of experience with software, computer architectures, or software architectures OR
M.S in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related discipline and experience with software, computer architectures, or software architectures
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience engineering using Agile methodologies
Must be able to work with software developers to assist in developing and presenting technical information
Provide team leadership and influence application vision
Leading in specific trade and root cause analysis studies that drive system development
Experience with continuous integration, build management, and automated test framework
Experience with AWS EC2 or similar cloud services platform
Experience with big data processing, data analytics, advanced visualization, and cloud technology
Experience merging agile development methodologies with traditional DoD/USAF documentation, reporting, and requirements management
Position can be filled at either Level 2 or Level 3
