WSP is currently initiating a search for a Junior Structural CADD Designer for our Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, PA offices

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD software(s) to create engineering contract documents (CADD drawings).

  • Read and understand plans, design sketches and drawings.

  • Draft and develop engineering contract documents as directed from engineering mark-ups, sketches, detailed drawings, and verbal direction.

  • Make required changes, additions, and/or revisions to existing CADD drawings.

  • Assist office staff in use of Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD software, including trouble-shooting of CAD issues.

  • Adhere to WSP USA quality Assurance Policies/Procedures, CADD protocol, as well as client standards and requirements.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of CADD production experience utilizing Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software for bridge design projects.

  • High School Diploma or Technical School Certificate in Drafting/Design or Engineering.

  • Experience with PennDOT drafting standards.

  • Familiarity with computer system operation, and Microsoft Office.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP"s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Digital Delivery software experience including Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Inventor, AutoDesk InfraWorks, etc.

  • Experience with NJDOT drafting standards a plus.

This is a great opportunity for an individual to work on exciting projects as part of a team of dedicated engineers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of challenging projects, which will include tasks such as the design of a variety of new structures including buildings, transit stations, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures; analysis of existing structures; review and/or production of construction submittals; and review of contract plans for conformance with established design criteria. This position also offers a flexible career path with opportunities to pursue a technical track with increasing design and leadership responsibilities or to grow into a project management role.
