Your Work

Feathr's SaaS platform is a critical component of the value we deliver to our clients. We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to help us grow and maintain the technical components that allow us to meet the advertising, marketing and web analytics needs of our diverse customer base. The Junior Software Engineer at Feathr has a demonstrated interest and proficiency in web development. You will work under the direction of a Senior Software Engineer on backend and frontend software development projects. Engineers at Feathr own their code from planning to maintenance to retirement - you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop requirements and design technical solutions, collaborate with your engineering colleagues to implement those solutions, deploy and monitor your changes in production and address issues as they are identified.

This position is part of our Engineering team, which consists of a Director, an Associate Director of Information Security, Senior, Staff and Junior Software Engineers. This position will work alongside the Associate Director of Information Security and will focus mostly on Information Security -related projects at least for the first year of employment. After that it is expected that you will become more familiar with other aspects of our software systems and will contribute in additional capacities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work with the Associate Director of Information Security to help execute on Feathr's information security goals

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to develop technical requirements for new product initiatives

  • Produce technical documentation for new and existing components of Feathr's software systems

  • Collaborate with other engineers to design, implement, deploy and maintain Feathr's software systems

  • Investigate, debug and resolve issues escalated from the Product Support team

  • Review code from other engineers to help ensure security, maintainability and performance of Feathr's software

Your Experience

  • Any or all of the following:
  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related field

  • Coding Bootcamp certification

  • Demonstrated proficiency in web development (portfolio of projects on GitHub or other platform)

  • At least a year of professional web development experience

  • You might be working on one project but need to context switch to another unexpectedly in the case of a critical outage.

  • Careful, detail oriented approach to building software - ask questions first, write code later.


$60,000 annual base salary + up to a 10% bonus based on individual and company performance.

Interview Process

Application Screen

  • The Talent Acquisition Specialist reviews and follows up with all applicants. Candidates at this stage are assessed based on the requirements outlined in the job post.

Information Screening

  • The Talent Acquisition Specialist will invite candidates that move forward to a 15-minute virtual interview. This conversation will be focused on relevant work experience, compensation, role overview, and answering any questions the candidate has.

Work Assignment

  • Candidates will be given a project that is relevant to the work they can expect in the role. The completion of the assignment should not take more than 1 hour.

Panel Interview

  • 1 hour interview with three key members of the team. This interview will dive deeper into the role, technical knowledge, and requirements of the position.

Hiring Manager Interview

  • The hiring manager will review the work assignment with the candidate to learn more about their thought process and offer feedback on their project.

Reference Check

  • At this time, we will reach out to candidates' references. This is also the opportunity for candidates to provide any additional information or context if there are concerns surrounding their background check. Feathr believes candidates that have made it to this point in the interview process are truly talented individuals, and so we are open to dialoguing background screens before turning away candidates that have consistently excelled through the interview process.


  • The Talent Acquisition Specialist will reach out with the details of the offer to discuss with the candidate. After all the details of the informal offer are finalized, the candidate will receive their formal offer. At this time, we will run the background check.
